Styled Archives: The Sherihan (Camp) Edition

Egyptian star Sherihan, known for her versatile talents in acting, singing, and classical dance, has etched an indelible mark on both pop culture in the region and the fashion world. Recognised for her notable roles on stage and screen, she gained further popularity through her appearances in Ramadan sketch and variety shows during the 80s and 90s.

Apart from her charm and captivating presence, it was her daring and distinctive fashion sense that truly made her stand out. Her wardrobe was a platform for experimentation, ahead of its time, blending vibrant colours, unique designs, and shimmering fabrics in an expressive manner. While some might consider her outfits unconventional, Sherihan challenged norms, showing that fashion is about confidence as much as aesthetics, earning her a place among the boldest on-screen styles.

As the lead singer and performer in the beloved Ramadan series ‘Fawazeer,’ she captured hearts with acting sketches and memorable opening sequences. Displaying an array of striking outfits, her styles intertwined traditional Egyptian belly dance, modern moves, and even hints of hip-hop.

Sherihan's boldness and unapologetic approach have left a lasting impact, reminding us that style can be limitless when creativity is at the forefront.

During this particular season of Fawazeer, Sherihan would adorn herself in various costumes that pay homage to different cultures. In this dazzling moment, she is dressed in a glittering gold Ancient Egyptian-inspired outfit.

Sultry red dress by Lebanese designer Fouad Sarkis - 1993

One of Sherihan’s most memorable looks, she collaborated with the Lebanese designer Fouad Sarkis to create a red mermaid tail dress adorned with fluttering feathers on the sleeves and the hat. The dress featured a distinct silhouette and a mock neck with a chessboard pattern in red and white. Sarkis revived it during the Winter 2015 fashion show held in Cairo with a sculpted tableau of Sherihan wearing the dress displayed at the entrance as part of the show.
