All the Destinations EgyptAir is Adding to Its Global Network
From Zanzibar and Birmingham to Chicago and Los Angeles, EgyptAir is expanding its global network, with proposed routes to Singapore, Sydney, Marseille and London adding to the 2027 plans.
EgyptAir is having a very busy year. The national carrier has spent 2026 adding new destinations across several continents, from Zanzibar and Venice to Chicago and Los Angeles, while lining up more routes for the months ahead. Birmingham is due to join the network in October, followed by Stockholm in December, and the airline is already looking towards an even bigger 2027.
The next phase could take EgyptAir considerably further afield. Plans are being developed for direct flights to Singapore, with a proposed Cairo–Singapore–Sydney service potentially bringing Australia into the airline’s network for the first time. At the same time, EgyptAir is exploring a second London gateway at Stansted and working towards a possible seasonal route to Marseille.
The expansion also comes as EgyptAir grows its long-haul fleet, with Airbus A350-900s already being used on the new US services and expected to play a role in the proposed Asia-Pacific expansion. Boeing 737 MAX aircraft are also being added for shorter international routes, giving the airline more room to build out its network.
Here’s everywhere EgyptAir has added to the map — or is looking to add next.
Zanzibar, Tanzania
EgyptAir touched down in Zanzibar for the first time on September 4th, launching direct Cairo–Zanzibar flights twice a week. The new service adds another destination to the airline’s growing East Africa network.
Birmingham, UK
From October 25th, EgyptAir will connect Cairo directly with Birmingham four times a week. The year-round service will give travellers across England’s Midlands a direct link to Egypt without having to go through London.
Stockholm, Sweden
EgyptAir is heading further north in December, with Cairo–Stockholm flights launching on December 18th. The route will operate four times a week, year-round, aboard an Airbus A321neo.
Singapore
A return to Southeast Asia could be on the cards in early 2027. EgyptAir is planning direct Cairo–Singapore flights, subject to regulatory approval, opening a new link between Egypt and one of Asia’s biggest aviation hubs.
Sydney, Australia
This is the particularly ambitious one. EgyptAir plans to connect Cairo with Sydney via Singapore from early 2027, potentially bringing Australia into its network for the first time and opening a new route between the two regions.
Marseille, France
EgyptAir is also working towards a seasonal Cairo–Marseille service for summer 2027. The route is still being mapped out, so its final schedule and frequency have yet to be announced.
London Stansted, UK
EgyptAir could soon have another London gateway. The airline is discussing a potential Cairo–Stansted service for 2027, which would sit alongside its existing London Heathrow operation.
Los Angeles, USA
After roughly 25 years away, EgyptAir returned to Los Angeles in May 2026. The direct service operates three times a week and is being flown with the airline’s Airbus A350-900.
Chicago, USA
Chicago joined EgyptAir’s map in June 2026, marking the airline’s first nonstop service to the city. The route currently operates three times a week using the A350-900.
Venice, Italy
Venice got its first direct EgyptAir connection this summer, with Cairo–Venice flights launching in June. The service began twice weekly and is increasing to three weekly flights for the winter season.
