Egypt Lifts Pre-Entry Visa Requirements for Canadian Travellers

Beginning December 1st, Canadian citizens will no longer need a pre-entry visa to travel to Egypt. They will once again be able to obtain a visa upon arrival at Egyptian airports, with the e-visa application process also reinstated. 

As of October 2023, Canadian passport holders without Egyptian origins have been required to secure a visa in advance from any Egyptian embassy or consulate abroad. 

The cancellation of the pre-entry visa requirement coincides with Egypt and Canada's celebration of the 70th anniversary of their diplomatic relations.
