Egypt’s Byoum Lakeside Hotel in Fayoum to Undergo Steigenberger Revamp
With this new luxurious partnership between Orascom Development and Sigma Development, Fayoum – already an exciting destination – is set to become even more thrilling.
If you’ve been following regional – and more specifically, Egyptian – travel trends, you know that there’s an uncontended rising (and, thankfully, no longer underappreciated) star making its mark within the world of nature-centred travel – Fayoum.
Once a place, where one would skip on the comfort of a hotel for the sake of staying in the sweeping desert with its towering sand dunes and glittering lakes, Fayoum is now slowly and rightfully getting the appreciation it deserves. And by none other than renowned luxury hotelier Steigenberger.
To be operated by Steigenberger following an exciting partnership agreement between Byoum by Orascom Development and Sigma Development & Projects Management, the scenic town right in the heart of UNESCO World Heritage Site Fayoum is set to offer travellers a comfortable and luxurious experience, while also providing endless unique activities for guests to partake in – including sandboarding, desert safari expeditions and bird watching.
Originally a 62-key hotel, Byoum is getting three major facelifts – a rebrand to Steigenberger Lakeside Resort Byoum, a full refurbishment of its existing lodgings and an expansion to 108 rooms and suites. This ambitious renewal project will be available for eager travellers to experience as early as October 2025.
The upcoming Steigenberger Lakeside Resort Byoum will feature a range of amenities, including all-day and à la carte dining, pool-side bars, a spa with an indoor heated pool, and sports facilities, such as paddle tennis courts. Additionally, the lavish resort will feature upscale villas with private gardens, as well as apartments with picturesque views.
So, whether you’re looking for a short-term stay or a permanent residence in Fayoum, Steigenberger Lakeside Resort Byoum is poised to offer you both, with a dash of luxury and a lot of nature.
