Myths, Mosaics & Post-Summer Magic in Cyprus

With the rays, waves, and raves of the summer season now a distant memory, washed away by a Grade 4 tsunami of emails and zoom meetings, those of us in need of constant stimulation, the occasional pool day, and regular breaks from reality have not been coping very well. Swapping out sunnies for sweaters, it turns out, is a transition that requires grit, determination, and a lot (a lot) of weeping over hot chocolate.

But this year, instead of wallowing in our allergy-infested autumn sorrows and adopting our ‘woe is me’ personas until the (very far away) seasonal ushering of bikinis, bungalows, and banana boats, it might be wiser to simply recreate the summer instead. And here, at SceneTraveller, we think you should do just that on the seductive, sandy shores of Cyprus, where history, heritage, and—most importantly—high seas will cure any and all post-summer ailments.

So, without further ado, these are the hotels, resorts, and guest houses in Cyprus that will not only help you get a taste of the June/July/August Pina Colada vibes, but will also introduce you to some of the world’s most interesting artefacts, monuments and museums.

Parklane Limassol — The Fun for the Whole Fam One

Villas with private pools, tropical gardens, a designer retail village, a kids club, an award-winning spa and a mini football pitch—this one has something for parents, kids, and even shopaholic aunties.

Kyrenia Palace Boutique Hotel — The Positively Medieval One

A refurbished mansion from 1889 with thick stone walls, a private courtyard, antiques in the lobby and carved wooden beds, Kyrenia Palace is for the history-loving traveller.

Casale Panayiotis Village Hotel — The Mountain High One

Comprising traditional houses in the quaint village of Kalopanayiotis, this one’s situated in the Troodos mountains, featuring hiking trails, wine routes, and orchards aplenty.

Gillham Vineyard Hotel — The Red Red Wine One

Surrounded by grape vines, luscious gardens and towering mountains, this boutique hotel might seem enticing because of the views but actually, it’s the wine spa that’s the true centrepiece.

Aelia Wellness Retreat — The Health Is Wealth One

This wood-and-stone eco-resort is all about curated wellness workshops, healthy cooking classes, cycling and horseback riding across the picturesque countryside.

Apokryfo Traditional Guesthouse — The Cottagecore One

At the foothills of Mount Olympus, this secluded stone-walled stay, which was renovated by the owners themselves, features rooms with fireplaces, private courtyards and a saltwater pool.

M Boutique Hotel — The Do Not Disturb One

Designed exclusively for adults, this one is for the newlyweds that never want to leave the year-round pool, the sauna, or the lavish bedroom.
