Egyptian Citizen Files Lawsuit to Establish National Father’s Day
The case was heard by the Administrative Court of the State Council, which has reserved a session on July 9th for a verdict.

Do dads get enough love? An Egyptian citizen has filed a legal claim to compel the Egyptian government to allocate an official holiday for National Father’s Day.
The lawsuit claims that most countries celebrate their own National Father’s Day, with Egypt being one of a few exceptions to that trend. The plaintiff had been advocating for an Egyptian National Father’s Day since 2015, and - during his case - cited verses from the Quran and the Bible to allude to the importance of parental ties to mothers and fathers alike.
The case was heard by the Administrative Court of the State Council, which has reserved a session on July 9th to deliver a verdict.
