Egyptian Space Agency to Launch EgyptSat 2 Satellite in December 2022
The satellite is designed to identify climate trends across Africa.

The Egyptian Space Agency (ESA) will launch the EgyptSat 2 satellite in December 2022, pushing its launch date from September 2022. EgyptSat 2 is designed to identify climate progression and trends across African nations which hope to respond to climate change challenges by controlling emission rates. The satellite is currently housed in the Egyptian Space City, located near the New Administrative Capital.
Mohamed El-Kosy, the CEO of the ESA, stated that the country is leading the way among African satellite development programmes. Although EgyptSat 2 was designed in cooperation with China, the Egyptian Space City is set to be the site of national factories that will be able to produce all-Egyptian satellites.
