Forging Vaccination Certificates Can Earn You 10 Years in Prison
The statement was released in light of the new rule barring unvaccinated public workers from their workplace, as well as banning unvaccinated students and staff from entering a university campus.
The Ministry of Health and Population has issued a reminder that the forgery of an official document - such as the COVID-19 vaccination certificate - is punishable with a prison sentence ranging between three to 10 years, in addition to a fine determined by the relevant authority. The statement was released in light of the new rule barring unvaccinated public workers from their workplace, as well as banning unvaccinated students, professors and staff from entering a university campus.
Original COVID-19 vaccination certificates have a QR code that does not expire, and must be scanned upon entering governmental institutions. For those who have a medical condition preventing them from taking the vaccine, a medical report documented by an official body proving their inability to obtain the vaccine may be presented upon entering instead.
