Sarcophagus of King Ramses II Will Be Displayed in Paris Exhibition
Running until September 6th, the ‘Ramses the Great and the Gold of the Pharaohs’ exhibition returns to Paris after 50 years.
The sarcophagus of King Ramses II will be part of ‘Ramses the Great and the Gold of the Pharaohs’, an international exhibition that tours the world with 181 objects from the reign of Ramses II, as it goes on display at La Grande Halle de La Villette in Paris, France. Running until September 6th, the exhibition has returned to Paris for the first time in 50 years.
The exhibition features recently found animal mummies and treasures from Dahshur and Tanis' royal tombs, as well as the most extensive collection of Egyptian jewellery and artefacts from the rule of Ramses II to have ever been put on display in the US.
Strolling amidst the historic collection, the museum exhibit immerses visitors into the history of ancient Egypt with multimedia and virtual reality experiences recreating turning points in Ramses’s history, including his largest battle at Kadesh.
