Egypt’s First Eco-Friendly Yacht Marina Establish in Suez Canal
The green marina will be entirely reliant on renewable energy sources, and will be located near a new hotel and walkway.
An eco-friendly marina for yachts is being established in the Suez Canal - the first of its kind in Egypt. Entirely reliant on renewable energy sources, the marina will occupy 25,000 square metres and will be able to host 65 yachts, and will be located near a new hotel and tourist walkway overlooking the canal’s serene views.
The marina is part of a wider plan to encourage yacht tourism into Egypt. Earlier this year, the Egyptian government launched ‘Single-Window for Yacht Tourism’, an online platform facilitating yacht tourism by simplifying registration and entry into the country.
The eco-conscious marina is one of many Egyptian projects making strides in sustainability and eco-friendly development, in light of the COP27 UN Climate Change Conference taking place in Sharm El Sheikh later this November.
