Artist Spotlight: Dareen

Hailing from Alexandria, Dareen has been steadily climbing the ranks of the hip-hop scene. Her blistering worldplay and smooth delivery rendered her as one of Egypt’s most promising young rappers, as well as a voice to watch out for in a genre still dominated by male voices. 

Her venture into rap in 2017 first came through writing, when she joined a workshop in Alexandria with a small collective called D.O.P. Nation. It was there that she learned the technicalities of writing and developed a distinctive songwriting style that set her apart in the rap scene. Since then, Dareen has been constantly honing her sound and expanding the scope of her ambitions, both in terms of musical ability and visual style.
