Al Rawi Storytelling Awards Will be Streamed Live on TikTok
Winners stand to receive awards of up to EGP One million, drawn from a total prize pool of EGP 3.5 million.
Egypt’s emerging storytellers are getting a wider stage this year, as El Rawi Storyteller Awards ceremony heads to TikTok Live through a new collaboration between the global platform, Egyptian PR agency CC Plus, and its sister company, The Global Narrative.
Dedicated entirely to storytelling, the El-Rawi Awards span nine categories: digital content (one-minute reel), long-form documentary (five minutes or under), short film (thirty minutes or under), monologue video (two minutes or under), culinary video, scriptwriting (3,000 words or under), photography, art, and music.
This year’s theme, ‘How You See Egypt’, invites participants to render personal, critical, or imaginative reflections on the country across mediums. Winners stand to receive awards of up to EGP One million, drawn from a total prize pool of EGP 3.5 million.
“Our agreement with TikTok Live will strengthen our reach among a community of young creators in Egypt and across the Arab world, inspiring us to expand regionally and open new avenues for cultural expression in the coming years,” Lamia Kamel, Founder of CC Plus and the Narrative PR Summit tells CairoScene.
Nour Chamkhi, Trust & Reputation Manager at TikTok LIVE MENA, echoed Kamel’s sentiment, adding that, “This partnership gives us an opportunity to empower young creators to share their stories and perspectives with broader audiences through interactive livestream experiences.”
Set for June 1st, the ceremony’s digital pivot positions the awards within a broader, ongoing recalibration of how stories are produced, shared, and seen, placing emerging voices in direct conversation with the audiences they seek to reach.
