Amir El Masry to Star in Apple TV+ Series Metropolis
Set in 1928 Berlin, the drama follows the origins of detective Bernie Gunther as he joins the homicide unit to investigate a suspected serial killer.
Amir El Masry will star in Metropolis, a drama series adapted from Philip Kerr’s Berlin Noir novels for Apple TV+. The ensemble includes Academy Award winner Colin Firth, Stephen Campbell Moore, Alex Novak, Jacob McCarthy, and Amanda Lawrence.
The series is produced by Bad Wolf with Tom Hanks and Gary Goetzman for Playtone, with Germany’s Studio Babelsberg also involved. Set in 1928, Metropolis traces the origins of detective Bernie Gunther.
The story follows a young policeman promoted to Berlin’s homicide unit. In this elite and intimidating department, he investigates a case that appears to involve a serial killer operating on the margins of society.
Amir El Masry is also currently filming 'Al Saffah', co-starring Yasmina Al Abd, written by Engy Abu Al Soud and directed by Hadi El Bagoury.
