Asmaa Galal Lands First Solo TV Lead Role in ‘Khetm El Dafra’

Asmaa Galal, known for recent film and television roles including ‘Ashghal Shaqqa Gedan’ and ‘En Ghab El Ott’, is set to take on her first solo television lead in the upcoming series ‘Khetm El Dafra’.

Filming for the 12-episode project is scheduled to begin in mid June ahead of its planned release on a streaming platform.

The series is created by Fady El Naggar, written by Mohamed El Husseini and Nancy Farouk, and produced by Synergy Plus under producer Amr Morsi, with Mostafa El Ghazouli serving as executive producer.

The project will be directed by Khaled Mansour in his first television drama project. Mansour previously directed the feature film ‘Rehlet Al Bahth An Manfaz Le Khoroog El Sayed Rambo’, which premiered at the Venice Film Festival in 2024 before its theatrical release in Egypt in January 2025.

‘Khetm El Dafra’ follows several recent projects that positioned Galal for leading roles after a previously planned Ramadan series was postponed. Alongside the series, Galal is currently filming the feature ‘El Fil Ala El Darfil’ opposite Ahmed Fahmy in a social comedy directed by Karim Saad.

Her latest film, ‘En Ghab El Ott’, was released in cinemas on December 31st, 2025, co-starring Asser Yassin alongside Mohamed Shahin, Aly Sobhy, Samah Anwar, and Carmen Bsaibes.

The film was written by Ayman Wattar and directed by Sara Noah in her first narrative feature.
