Cairo Intl Book Fair Draws Two Million Visitors in First Five Days

The Cairo International Book Fair recorded more than two million visitors within the first five days of its 57th edition, according to figures released on January 26th.

Visitor numbers reached 346,789 on that day alone, underscoring the scale of public turnout at one of the region’s largest cultural gatherings.

This year’s edition features a broad programme of cultural, intellectual and artistic activities, alongside expanded services aimed at improving the visitor experience for different age groups.

He said the fair continues to function as a platform that brings together writers, publishers, thinkers and the public in a shared cultural space.

The 57th Cairo International Book Fair is being held under the patronage of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi from January 21st to February 3rd at the Egypt International Exhibitions Centre in the Fifth Settlement.

Romania has been named guest of honour for this edition, while Nobel laureate Naguib Mahfouz has been selected as the fair’s personality.
