Egyptian comedy ‘Siko Siko’ topped Saudi Arabia’s box office for the first week of May 2025, surpassing major international contenders like Marvel’s ‘Thunderbolts’ and ‘Sinners’. According to figures shared by Turki Al Alshikh, Chairman of the General Entertainment Authority, cinemas across the Kingdom generated SAR 20.7 million in revenue from 417,500 tickets sold across 48 films. The weekly chart reflects a diverse blend of regional and global titles, with Siko Siko claiming the top spot with SAR 3.6 million.
Siko Siko | Egypt (SAR 3.6 million)
Directed by Omar El Mohandes and written by Mohamed El Dabbah, this Egyptian comedy stars Taha Desouky, Essam Omar, Khaled El Sawy, Basem Samra, and Tara Emad. The film follows a series of absurd misadventures and has quickly become a regional box office favourite.
Thunderbolts | USA (SAR 3.5 million)
The 36th film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe is directed by Jake Schreier and penned by Eric Pearson and Joanna Calo.
