Egyptologist Dr. Zahi Hawass Unveils Autobiography 'The Guardian'

Egypt’s own Indiana Jones, Egyptologist Dr. Zahi Hawass, is releasing an autobiography entitled ‘The Guardian: Days of Zahi Hawass’. Known for his groundbreaking archaeological discoveries and promotion of Egypt’s ancient heritage, Dr. Hawass is inarguably one of the most impactful Egyptologists in modern history. His support for Egyptian-led digs helped reverse decades of colonial exploitation.

This 600-page book not only narrates Dr. Hawass’s life, but also chronicles the history of archaeological work in Egypt over the past 40 years.

The book covers everything from Dr. Hawass’s archaeological discoveries and accomplishments to the retrieval of stolen artefacts and the construction of important museums. 

The title of the book was chosen by Nahdet Misr Publishing house, the premier publisher of books for all things culture in Egypt for the last 84 years.
