HerStory Films Launches Incubator to Empower Female Filmmakers
Production company HerStory Films has announced an open call, offering female directors the opportunity to develop, finance and produce their short films about pressing gender issues.
HerStory Films, a nascent film production company that exclusively produces films by female filmmakers in the Middle East, has announced an open call, offering female directors the opportunity to develop, finance and produce their short films about pressing gender issues.
Co-founded by mediapreneur May Abdel Asim and superstar actress Mona Zaki, HerStory Films will select 20 directors to partake in the program based on their scripts and previous work. They will be able to refine their work, then, from those 20, only 3 will be able to realize their projects with the guidance of the most renowned professionals in the industry.
This initiative is in cooperation with the Embassy of the Kingdom of Netherlands in Egypt and applications are set to close on January 12th, 2024.
