Mohamed Adel Emam Will Star in Remake of ‘Shams el-Zanati’
Directed by Ahmed Khaled Moussa, the remake will star Yasmine Sabri and is rumoured to feature Adel Emam himself a narrator.
Actor Mohamed Emam is tapping into the legacy of his father, Adel Emam, by starring in a remake of the renowned war drama, ‘Shams el-Zanati’ (1991).
The original version of ‘Shams el-Zanati’ stars Adel Emam, Mahmoud Hemeida, Mostafa Metwali and Noha El Amrousy, and is set in a secluded oasis village in the Western Desert during World War II. Loosely based on the American film ‘The Magnificent Seven’ and the Japanese film ‘Seven Samurai’, the film follows a ragtag group led by Shams el-Zanati (Emam), who are hired to help the villagers defend themselves from bandits.
