'Rsh' Colours Riyadh With Contemporary Art from Around the World
The street art festival will feature murals by over 50 global artists at Riyadh’s Al-Mughrizat district.
The ‘Rsh’ street festival is taking over Riyadh from November 15th to December 6th, bringing street art, music, dialogue and other once-suppressed modes of expression from around the world to the capital’s up-and-coming Al-Mughrizat district.
Organised by the Saudi Ministry of Culture, the ‘Rsh’ festival (named after the Arabic word for ‘Spray’) will see over 50 artists, including 30 from the Arab world, transform vacant walls with commissioned murals. Educational workshops, films and dance performances will all form part of the festival’s programme.
The event is co-curated by London artist Cedar Lewisohn, renowned for having curated installations at the Tate Britain and the Tate Modern, and Basmah Felemban, one of the Kingdom’s foremost graphic designers.
