Sawiris Arts & Culture Scholarship Opens 2026 Applications

Applications are now open for the 2026 round of the Sawiris Arts and Culture Scholarship, with Egyptian artists able to apply until March 31st, 2026.

The programme offers full funding for Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees, as well as Residencies and Apprenticeships, across Performing Arts, Music, Visual Arts and Film Studies.

The scholarship covers tuition, accommodation, living expenses, travel, local transportation and health insurance, addressing the financial constraints that often limit access to arts education.

The scholarship is open to Egyptian nationals currently residing in Egypt who have secured, or are in the process of securing, conditional admission to an approved institution.

Applicants are expected to demonstrate community involvement and to return to Egypt for two to three years after completing their studies.

Preference is given to candidates who have not lived abroad for more than three years. According to the foundation, the programme is aimed at artists who see their practice as connected to the wider social and cultural landscape, with the intention that recipients contribute to Egypt’s arts scene after their studies.
