Shama Al Hamed Holds Solo Exhibit ‘I Jump - Will I Stick the Landing?’

‘I Jump – Will I Stick the Landing?’, the debut solo exhibition of artist Shama Al Hamed, is being showcased at Aisha Alabbar Gallery. Curated by Walter Willems, the exhibition presents a collection of paintings, sculptures, and installations that reflect Al Hamed’s artistic journey and personal experiences.

The exhibition uses jumping as a metaphor of movement through time, memory and emotion. Al Hamed incorporates architectural patterns from buildings that framed her childhood, transforming them through abstraction and repetition to explore their impact on her identity.

“Each piece represents a leap, a moment of searching, and an embrace of the uncertainty that fuels my growth,” says Al Hamed. A fully illustrated catalogue accompanies the exhibition, providing further insights into Al Hamed’s work.
