Tarek Alarian Announces Sequel to Iconic Film ‘El Selem We El Ta'ban’
The sequel stars Amr Youssef and Menna Shalaby, with filming to begin this February.

Director Tarek Alarian has revealed plans to helm the sequel to the classic film ‘El Selem We El Ta'ban’, which will star Amr Youssef and Menna Shalaby. Filming is set to start this February.
The original ‘El Selem We El Ta’ban’, released in 2001, starred Hani Salama, Hala Shiha and Ahmed Helmy. The romantic drama follows Hisham (Hani Salama) , a commitment-averse man, who goes on a journey of self discovery after meeting Yasmine (Hala Shiha).
This announcement comes shortly after Alarian’s ‘Welad Rizk 3: Al Qadiya’ clinched the Best Film Award at the Joy Awards 2025 against fierce competition with ‘Jaras Enzar’, ‘Rehla 404’ and ‘Shabab Al Bomb’.
