That's a Wrap! Netflix’s First Egyptian Series ’Paranormal’ Finishes Filming
Based on the popular book series ‘Ma Waraa el Tabeea’ by late novelist Ahmed Khaled Tawfik, 'Paranormal' has just finished filming, and will soon be released as Netflix's first Egyptian series.
We've been looking forward to Netflix’s Egyptian productions, and naturally we assumed that with everything going on, there will be roadblocks and delays that'll keep us from watching them for longer than planned. But somehow, the cast and crew of Netflix's very first Egyptian series, 'Paranormal', managed to come together to officially finish filming. Director Amr Salama - who previously worked on huge successes like drama series Tay’ee - shared the news on his Instagram, and we could only hope to be as hyped as he seems to be.
The show is based on the popular book series ‘Ma Waraa el Tabeea’ written by late novelist Ahmed Khaled Tawfik, which sold over 15 million copies in the Arab world. Set in the 1960s, the series follows a single haematologist named Rifaat Ismail (played by Ahmed Amin) as he undergoes a number of supernatural events.
