The Richard Mille AlUla Desert Polo, the world’s first desert polo event, will stir up a storm on January 17th and the 18th.
The Richard Mille AlUla Desert Polo tournament, recognised as the world’s first organised desert polo event, is set to return to AlUla on January 17th and the 18th, 2025.
Organised by the Royal Commission for AlUla (RCU) in collaboration with the Saudi Polo Federation (SPF), the event will take place at the AlFursan Equestrian Village, continuing its tradition of blending equestrian heritage with world-class sport. Richard Mille remains the title sponsor.
Six teams, each comprising three players, will compete for the coveted Desert Polo trophy. The roster includes prominent names such as Adolfo Cambiaso, widely regarded as one of the greatest polo players, alongside his son Poroto and daughter Mia Cambiaso. Other notable participants include Nacho Figueras and Pablo Mac Donough. Female players, who first joined the tournament in 2024, will once again participate, underscoring the inclusive spirit of the event.
In addition to the matches, the event will also furnish a variety of family-friendly activities, including a Kids Zone featuring interactive games and educational opportunities. Guests can enjoy traditional and contemporary musical performances and sample a diverse range of food and beverages, with mocktails crafted by professional mixologists.
