Egypt’s Investment Authority Launches Technology Hub for Startups
Set up with a specialised developer and aligned with regulators, the hub aims to streamline procedures and support founders across Egypt.
The General Authority for Investment and Free Zones (GAFI) has announced the launch of a new Technology Hub located within the Nasr City Free Zone, designed to support startups across Egypt.
GAFI says the hub will provide a one-stop ecosystem for emerging companies, offering simplified procedures, institutional support and incentives aimed at helping startups scale up, expand abroad and improve their competitive edge in regional and international markets.
The announcement came at the final showcase of the Elevate Lab Programme, which GAFI participated in. The initiative is delivered in cooperation with Enactus Egypt, Exits MENA, and several ecosystem partners, and is held under the auspices of the Ministry of Youth and Sports and GAFI. The final showcase highlighted Egypt’s top 10 startups, offering training, exposure, and opportunities for growth and investment.
GAFI’s leadership emphasised that, beyond capital and infrastructure, the new hub aims to provide regulatory clarity and operational ease — factors seen as critical to translating entrepreneurial ideas into sustainable businesses. Coordination with relevant authorities, including regulatory and tax bodies, will aim to deliver a smoother path for startup growth.
