Talabat Tests Autonomous Robot Deliveries Inside Dubai High-Rises

Talabat and Singapore-based robotics company QuikBot have launched a pilot at Dubai Digital Park to test autonomous deliveries inside high-rise buildings.

The trial focuses on the part of a delivery that happens after a rider reaches the building. At A6 in Dubai Digital Park, riders hand orders to a QuikBot in the lobby, after which the robot enters the lift, travels to the customer’s floor and stops at the door. Customers unlock the order using a one-time password.

Talabat said the pilot is intended to measure how much time this can save riders, particularly in buildings where lift waits and floor access can slow down deliveries. The model would allow riders to hand over the final indoor leg and remain available for other orders.

QuikBot’s system uses its QuikSync platform to give robots a digital identity and manage how they interact with building access systems, lifts and customers. The company said its autonomous delivery technology is already in use in Singapore and the UAE.

Talabat and QuikBot signed a Memorandum of Understanding on September 7th, with the Dubai Silicon Oasis pilot serving as a test for whether the system could eventually be rolled out more widely across Talabat’s delivery operations.
