10,000 Schools Get Three Days Off for Egypt’s Presidential Elections
The schools are located across 14 governorates including Cairo, Alexandria, Giza, Port Said, Matrouh, Damietta and Suez.
The Ministry of Education and Higher Education has announced that 10,085 schools across Egypt will have three days off for the upcoming presidential elections, from December 10th to December 12th. During the course of the election, these schools will play host to election committees, where citizens will be able to line up and vote.
The schools are located across 14 governorates including Cairo, Alexandria, Giza, Port Said, Matrouh, Damietta and Suez. Eligible voters can find their designated polling station or elections committee by accessing the National Elections Authority website and entering their national ID number.
Candidates running for this election include incumbent president AbdelFattah El Sisi, Walid Zahran of the Social Democratic Party, Abdel-Sanad Yamama, of El Wafd Party and Hazem Omar of the Republican People’s Party. The election results will be announced on December 18th.
