10-Year ‘Blue Visa’ to UAE Will Be Offered to Environmental Innovators

The first phase of the Blue Visa programme launches in the UAE, following its announcement during the World Governments Summit in Dubai.

The Blue Visa initiative will give 10-year residency permits to individuals who have made a meaningful contribution towards environmental sustainability in and out of the country. This will include members of international organisations, NGOs, corporate leaders, global award winners and researchers.

The Ministry of Climate Change and Environment and the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Ports Security (ICP) states that this phase of the initiative will see the visa given to 20 sustainability thought leaders and innovators.

The launch of the Blue Visa comes as an extension of Golden and Green Residencies. Launched in 2022, these permits offer investors and real estate specialists long-term residency in the UAE.

Eligible individuals are able to apply directly through the ICP’s website, or will be nominated by UAE authorities.
