15.3 Million Tourists Expected to Arrive in Egypt by End of 2024
This milestone was boosted by investments in 7,200 new hotel rooms, 55% from newly established developments.
According to the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, Egypt expects to have received 15.3 million international visitors by the end of 2024, which would reflect a growth of 4% compared to the previous year.
In the latest cabinet meeting, the Egyptian government unveiled plans to bring in 30 million tourists a year by 2030, including significant investments in hotel infrastructure. In 2024, 7,200 new rooms were added, with 55% of those rooms coming from newly established developments.
The government aims to streamline processes to eliminate barriers to tourism investment. Proposed reforms include unifying inspection authorities, simplifying fee structures, and introducing incentives like the ‘Golden License’ to fast-track project approvals.
