50 Palestinian Children Cross Rafah Border for Medical Attention

A group of 103 Palestinians - made up of 50 sick and wounded Palestinian children, and 53 family members and caretakers - crossed the Rafah border for medical attention in Egypt.

Egypt received the injured patients and treated them in local hospitals in Al Arish, many of which either come from Al Shifa Hospital in northern Gaza or Nasser Hospital in the south. The treatment provided was part of the ceasefire agreement which was finalised in mid-January.

Hundreds of Egyptian aid convoys have since been sent to the Rafah border, Gaza’s only crossing that does not enter into Israel. Negotiations of the second phase of the deal, which calls for a permanent ceasefire, are supposed to begin on Monday, February 3rd.
