Abdalrahman Sameh Becomes Youngest National Chess Champion At 10

Abdalrahman Sameh Mohamed, a ten-year-old chess prodigy, emerged as the champion of the Egyptian National Chess Championship. Despite entering the competition as the 18th seed and facing experienced players, Abdalrahman delivered a dominant performance, scoring an impressive 10.5 points out of a possible 11. This achievement establishes him as the youngest national chess champion in Egypt's history.
Experts were in awe of Abdalrahman's talent. Egyptian Grandmasters Ahmed Adly and Bassem Amin lauded his rapid development and exceptional analytical skills. Notably, Abdalrahman started playing in rated tournaments only in January of this year. His rating has skyrocketed since then, and his performance in the championship is projected to boost it even further.
Abdalrahman's success appears even more remarkable considering his background. He is trained by his father, who is not a chess player himself, and the family has limited resources.

He emphasized the importance of Abdalrahman receiving the support he needs to continue improving and potentially challenge for the world title in the future.
Abdalrahman will soon be testing his skills against the world's elite. According to Adly, He is set to compete for an Egyptian team in the upcoming FIDE World Rapid & Blitz Team Championship in Kazakhstan.
