Saudi Arabia Sets September 23rd Holiday for Private Sector

September 23rd, 2026 will be an official holiday for employees in Saudi Arabia’s private and non-profit sectors to mark the Kingdom’s 96th National Day.

The Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development confirmed that Wednesday, Rabi al-Thani 12th, 1448 AH, corresponding to September 23rd, will be a paid day off for eligible workers in both sectors.

The ministry said the designation is being applied under Article 24 of the Executive Regulations of the Labour Law and instructed employers to follow the mechanism set out in the second paragraph of the article when implementing the holiday.

Saudi National Day is observed annually on September 23rd and commemorates the unification of the Kingdom by its founder King Abdulaziz in 1932.
