Ahmed Zaki's Family Sues Ministry of Culture Over Artist’s Belongings

The family of the late Egyptian actor Ahmed Zaki has filed a lawsuit against the Ministry of Culture over the return of his personal possessions. The lawsuit has been submitted to the State Council, citing the ministry's failure to respond to repeated requests for the items, either positively or negatively.

The contested belongings include several iconic items tied to Zaki's career, such as awards he received at festivals, and certificates of appreciation. Amongst the awards are honours from prominent figures, including the late President Hosni Mubarak and the King of Morocco.

Notable items also include a dagger gifted by Sultan Qaboos and a military suit that once belonged to late President Anwar Sadat. This particular suit was given to Zaki by Mrs. Jihan Sadat to help him prepare to play the role of President Sadat in a film.
