AIWFF is now accepting applications for its 2026 filmmaking workshops and grants supporting ten new short films.
The Aswan International Women’s Film Festival (AIWFF) has opened applications for its 2026 Aswan Cinema workshops, alongside a programme offering grants to support the production of up to ten short films centred on women and women’s issues. The workshops are designed for emerging filmmakers and will cover screenwriting, directing, cinematography, editing, sound and production. The accompanying grants will fund the creation of ten short fiction or documentary films, which will be produced with the involvement of workshop participants and screened as part of the festival’s tenth edition, scheduled from April 20th to 25th, 2026. Priority will be given to applicants from southern Egypt, with a particular focus on young women and men at the beginning of their filmmaking careers. Applications can be submitted through the AIWFF’s official Facebook page.
