Transit Cargo at Egyptian Ports Exempted from ACI Pre-Registration
A temporary exemption will speed customs clearance for transit shipments moving through Egyptian ports.
Transit shipments passing through Egyptian ports will temporarily be cleared without pre-registration under the Advance Cargo Information system, allowing goods to complete customs procedures without Advance Cargo Information registration before arrival.
The exemption will remain in effect for three months and applies to cargo transiting Egyptian ports on its way to final destinations in other markets. Transit shipments will also receive priority handling within customs procedures to accelerate clearance and reduce processing times at ports.
The facilitation covers both shipments currently stranded at ports and cargo dispatched after the outbreak of the Iranian war.
The measure is intended to maintain the movement of goods through Egyptian logistics corridors and support international trade flows during the current period of disruption.
Priority processing for transit shipments is expected to help ease pressure on supply chains linking European Union markets with Gulf destinations, while enabling goods to continue moving through Egyptian ports more efficiently.
