Kafr El Sheikh Engineering Students Win Global Industrial Award
An Egyptian student team won Best Industrial Application at a US-based VisualSim Global Electronics Hackathon.
Students from Kafr El Sheikh University’s Faculty of Engineering have won the Best Industrial Application Award at the VisualSim Global Electronics Hackathon in the United States for their graduation project.
The winning team, Double M, is made up of fourth-year Electrical Engineering students specialising in Power and Machines. Their result was confirmed on April 27th, 2026, after advancing into the top 15 teams globally.
The project, titled Protection Intelligent System for Detecting Faults (PISODF), is designed to monitor production lines and detect faults in real time.
It uses programmable logic controllers and human-machine interfaces, alongside industrial Internet of Things technologies aligned with current digital manufacturing standards.
The university stated that the system was developed entirely within the Faculty of Engineering, with academic supervision provided by Dr Iman Saad Abdel Nabi, Professor of Electrical Power Systems.
