Cairo International Book Fair Exceeds 1 Million Visitors in Three Days

The Ministry of Culture has announced that over one million visitors have attended the Cairo International Book Fair in the first three days since its opening on January 25th, while the total attendance for its third day alone exceeded 400,000 visitors. The sprawling book fair is set over five exhibition halls, hosting 1,200 publishing houses from 70 countries, as well as 500 events held over the course of the event.

First inaugurated in 1969, the Cairo International Book Fair is the oldest in the Arab world, and remains one of the largest in the world. In 2020, the fair was moved to the more spacious and better equipped International Exhibition Centre in New Cairo, having previously been held at the Cairo International Fair Zone in Nasr City for over 30 years.
