Cairo Metro Line 3 Wins World’s Best Transport & Railway Project 2021

Construction of the fourth phase of Cairo Metro Line 3 has gotten more than a few fans around the world. The US Engineering News-Record Magazine (ENR) has named it the world's best transport and railway project in 2021.

Led by the Arab Contractors & Orascom Construction, with help from France's SYSTRA and Alstom, the 7 km extension with its six new stations has impressed railway experts worldwide, due to the way they've navigated the difficulty of constructing such an ambitious project right in the median of one of Cairo's main highways with minimum disruption. The project has, reportedly, over 5.7 million worker hours behind it so far.
