The Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) has declared that all banks in the country will be closed on Thursday, January 25th, in observance of the 25 January Revolution and National Police Day. The closure applies to both public and private sector employees, as announced by the cabinet, with regular banking operations resuming on Sunday, January 28th.
The holiday commemorates the thirteenth anniversary of the 2011 revolution and National Police Day, which pays tribute to the 50 Egyptian policemen murdered by British occupation forces in Ismailia in 1952.
