Comprehensive Health Insurance System Now Operating in South Sinai
Over 100,000 citizens have already registered in the comprehensive health insurance system in South Sinai.
The Health Care Authority has officially inaugurated the comprehensive health insurance system in South Sinai Governorate. Following a trial operation in mid-February 2022, the General Health Care Authority presented the trial run results to the Presidency of the Council of Ministers. South Sinai is now the fourth governorate to adopt this insurance system.
Over 100,000 citizens have already registered in the comprehensive health insurance system in South Sinai, making it the leading governorate in terms of citizen registration within the first phase of implementation. The system is supported by 31 health facilities, including eight hospitals and 23 family medicine centers and units.
To complete the comprehensive health insurance system in South Sinai by June 2024, four new health projects are underway; the Fayrouz Medical Complex, the Dahab Hospital, Nuweiba Hospital and Wadi Firan Family Medical Center.
