Dar Al-Iftaa Confirms Ramadan to Begin Saturday in Egypt
Dar Al-Iftaa has officially confirmed the sighting of the crescent moon post-sunset.

Egypt’s Dar Al-Iftaa has officially announced the sighting of the crescent moon, confirming that Ramadan will begin on Saturday, March 1, 2025. The announcement follows traditional lunar observations conducted across the country, marking the start of the holy month.
According to the Cairo-based National Research Institute of Astronomy and Geophysics (NRIAG), the new crescent was born after conjunction at 2:47 AM Cairo time on Friday, February 28, and was visible for approximately 37 minutes after sunset in Cairo, allowing religious authorities to confirm the beginning of Ramadan.
Ramadan will conclude with Eid al-Fitr, expected to fall on Sunday, March 30st, 2025, or Monday, March 31st, 2026.
