Dubai Metro Hikes Minimum Top-up Fare for Nol Card to AED 50
In January, the RTA had previously raised the minimum top-up from AED 5 to AED 20 at metro station offices.
The minimum top-up for Nol cards at Metro station ticket offices has increased from AED 20 to AED 50, according to an announcement by the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA). This change does not affect commuters who top up their cards online.
In January 2024, the RTA had previously raised the minimum top-up from AED 5 to AED 20 at metro station offices.
The Nol card, a prepaid smart card, is used to pay for public transportation across Dubai, including the Dubai Metro, buses, trams, and waterbuses. It can also be used for taxi fares, parking, entrance to Dubai public parks, Etihad Museum, and over 2,000 shops, restaurants, and stores throughout the city.
