Egypt Exports 210,000 Tonnes of Food, Agriculture in One Week

Egypt exported 210,000 tonnes of food and agricultural products last week, according to the National Food Safety Authority (NFSA). The shipments, totaling 3,400 consignments from 1,220 companies, covered around 660 product categories.

Vegetable exports reached 30,000 tonnes, led by sweet potatoes, mixed vegetables, and onions, while fruit exports totaled 26,000 tonnes, mainly strawberries, mangoes, and pomegranates.

The products were shipped to 180 markets, with Italy, India, the U.S., and the U.K. among the top destinations. Alexandria Port handled the largest share of consignments, followed by Safaga Port and Cairo International Airport. To support the sector, the NFSA issued 1,000 health certificates under the standardised export mechanism adopted earlier this year.
