Egypt-Ireland Trade Exchange Reaches USD 448 Million in 2024
According to CAPMAS, key exports included fertilisers, electrical machinery, and vegetables and fruits.
The trade exchange between Egypt and Ireland reached USD 448 million during the first 10 months of 2024, marking a USD 20 million increase compared to USD 428 million during the same period in 2023, according to the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS).
The announcement coincides with President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi’s visit to Dublin, part of a European tour focused on enhancing bilateral cooperation and addressing international issues of mutual interest. CAPMAS emphasised the long-standing political and historical ties between the two nations, which continue to influence their collaboration on regional and global matters.
Egyptian exports to Ireland grew significantly, rising to USD 121 million from USD 82 million in the previous year. Key exports included fertilisers (USD 35 million), electrical machinery (USD 32 million), and vegetables and fruits (USD 11 million). Meanwhile, imports from Ireland declined to USD 327 million from USD 346 million, with major imports including pharmaceutical products (USD 116 million) and food preparations (USD 102 million).
