Egypt Issued 13,238 Licenses for Livestock & Poultry Projects in 2024
This move was part of the Ministry of Agriculture’s larger initiative to assist farmers and enhance food security.
In 2024, the Ministry of Agriculture focused on strengthening the country's agricultural and livestock industries by issuing 13,238 licenses for livestock and poultry projects, particularly amongst smaller farmers. This was part of a broader effort to support local farmers, improve food security, and boost the economy.
Along with approving feed registrations, the ministry also supported animal feed factories and carried out inspections to ensure farms met health and safety standards.
To make food more affordable, 404,000 hens were distributed, and eggs were sold at discounted prices through mobile outlets. A special program was launched to help farmers raise cattle, with millions of pounds invested to support 44,000 people.
