Egypt's First Green Food Centres Will Be Established in Ismailia

The first green food centres in Egypt will soon be established in Ismailia, with the goal of enhancing the value-added chain of goods and products while reducing losses of food products, both in quantity and quality. The centres will aim to increase the availability of food products year-round, improve price control, and promote competition and transparency in trading.
In collaboration with the French Development Agency and the private sector, the first green food centre will be established on a 100-acre area strategically located near Ismailia’s ports, Egypt's main marine areas, agricultural regions in the Delta, and consumption zones.
These centres will serve as comprehensive ecosystems for farmers, wholesalers, and logistics services, offering various fresh goods while adhering to health and international quality standards. The centres will also include markets for vegetables and fruits, refrigeration facilities, sorting, packing, and packaging areas, as well as administrative and service buildings.
