Egypt's Women Clothing Exports Reach USD 2.2 Billion in 2023
The sector’s exports to the European Union, the second largest market for Egyptian ready-made garments, rose by 6%.
The Egyptian garment sector's exports reached USD 2.2 billion from January to November 2023, according to Marie Louis Bishara, the President of the Egyptian Apparel Export Council.
Exports to the European Union, the second-largest market for Egyptian ready-made garments, rose by 6% to USD 467 million during the same period. Spain emerged as the leading European importer with a value of USD 116 million, marking a 33% increase.
Exports to the Netherlands increased by 5% to USD 62 million, and exports to Turkey surged by 54% to USD 215 million. The sector also experienced significant growth in exports to Arab countries, with Saudi Arabia and Libya showing notable increases of 68% and 82%, respectively.
