Citrus Leads Egypt’s Agricultural Exports at 1.8 Million Tonnes
Egypt’s agricultural exports reached 5.2 million tonnes this year, led by citrus and potatoes, due to strict quality standards and expanding global market access.

Egypt’s agricultural exports reached 5.2 million tonnes in the first half of 2025, led by citrus crops, which accounted for approximately 1.8 million tonnes.
Potatoes followed closely behind with 1.2 million tonnes exported. Additional potato exports totaling 103,000 tonnes also appeared in fifth place, likely reflecting shipments from different timeframes or classifications.
Fresh onion exports stood at 168,000 tonnes, while fresh and dried beans amounted to 136,000 tonnes. Other major export crops included grapes, fresh strawberries, fresh garlic, fresh tomatoes, guava, and pomegranates.
Exporters are receiving ongoing support to eliminate trade barriers and strengthen Egypt’s competitiveness abroad, in line with national development strategies.
