Egyptian Companies Hold 63% of Egypt’s Apparel Export Base
According to the Apparel Export Council of Egypt, Egyptian-owned exporters expanded from 867 to 1,160 companies, up 34%, while foreign-owned exporters rose from 93 to 106 companies, up 14%.
Egyptian companies maintained a 62% to 63% share of Egypt’s ready-made garment export structure between 2023 and 2025, with foreign firms accounting for 37% to 38%. The total number of exporting companies increased from 960 in 2023 to 1,266 in 2025, a cumulative rise of 32%. According to the Apparel Export Council of Egypt, Egyptian-owned exporters expanded from 867 to 1,160 companies, up 34%, while foreign-owned exporters rose from 93 to 106 companies, up 14%. These counts indicate a larger increase in local participants alongside growth among foreign operators. Export values increased over the same period for both groups. Exports from Egyptian companies rose from USD 1.07 billion in 2023 to USD 1.60 billion in 2025, a cumulative increase of 50%. Exports from foreign companies increased from USD 655 million to USD 979 million, also up 50% between 2023 and 2025.
